Discusses infrastructure and Urban Development initiatives

Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh, today met Karnataka Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru and discussed various welfare initiatives and development activities being implemented in both states.
During the meeting, the two leaders held detailed discussions on modern development models and ongoing projects being undertaken by the Public Works and Urban Development Departments in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka. Particular emphasis was laid on infrastructure development, especially innovative road construction and road strengthening technologies being adopted in Karnataka.
Vikramaditya Singh expressed keen interest in studying the latest techniques used in Karnataka for road construction and maintenance so that suitable practices may be adopted to further improve road infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh.
PWD Minister said that senior officers from the Public Works and Urban Development Departments of Himachal Pradesh would soon visit Karnataka to study the successful urban development and infrastructure models being implemented there.
On the occasion, Vikramaditya Singh also extended an invitation to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to visit Himachal Pradesh.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that both states would closely study each other’s welfare policies and development initiatives so that schemes and governance models could be successful adapted for the greater benefit of the people.
Later, Vikramaditya Singh also met Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka DK Shivakumar and held detailed discussions on various matters of mutual interest and cooperation between the two states.
