Industry leaders, policymakers and academicians unite to chart a roadmap for a dignified, ethical and profitable direct selling ecosystem by 2030.
Reinforcing its commitment to industry-academia collaboration and entrepreneurial excellence, Shoolini University hosted the 5th Annual CEDSA Direct Selling Conclave, bringing together leading voices from the direct selling industry, academia, law, business and public policy to discuss the future of the sector in India.
Organised by the Centre of Excellence for Direct Selling in Academics (CEDSA), the two-day conclave revolved around the theme “Direct Selling 2030: Building a Dignified, Predictable and Profitable Entrepreneurial Profession.” The event served as a national platform for deliberations on ethics, innovation, compliance, entrepreneurship and sustainable growth in the rapidly evolving direct selling industry.
The conclave commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana in the presence of Prof. P.K. Khosla, Chancellor, Prof. Atul Khosla, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Vishal Anand, Pro Chancellor, and Prof. Ashish Khosla, President, Innovation and Technology, along with delegates and industry experts from across the country.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Vishal Anand emphasised that successful businesses are built not merely on ideas but on effective execution and meaningful relationships. He noted that organisations that fail to adapt to changing times often struggle to survive, underscoring the importance of continuous learning and innovation.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Atul Khosla highlighted the role of excellence and determination in nation-building, stating that India can realise its vision of becoming a global knowledge leader only through innovation, courage and commitment to quality. He encouraged students and entrepreneurs to challenge conventional thinking and embrace change as a catalyst for growth.
Prof. Kamal Kant Vashisth, Director of CEDSA, stressed the need for creating an ethical, knowledge-driven direct selling ecosystem. He advocated for greater professionalism, transparency and education within the industry, describing direct selling as a respectable entrepreneurial career capable of creating sustainable livelihoods.
A major highlight of the conclave was the unveiling of the Direct Selling 2030 Vision, which outlined four key priorities: establishing direct selling as a respected profession, developing informed and profitable entrepreneurs, creating structured career progression pathways, and building a sustainable ecosystem founded on trust and long-term growth.
The conclave also featured four high-level panel discussions addressing some of the industry’s most pressing challenges and opportunities. Discussions focused on strengthening professional standards, enhancing consumer trust, promoting financial literacy, leveraging digital transformation, developing leadership capabilities and creating transparent career advancement frameworks.
The opening day concluded with an in-depth session on the future of direct selling, where experts deliberated on regulatory reforms, consumer protection, sustainability, technological advancements and stronger collaboration between academia, industry and policymakers.
The event reaffirmed Shoolini University’s growing role as a thought leader in entrepreneurship and professional education, while contributing to the development of a more credible, innovative and future-ready direct selling sector in India.
