SUEZ India, along with its NGO partner Himachal Pradesh Ishwas Lok Kalyan Society, organised a water conservation awareness seminar at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jutogh Cantt, Tutu, on Sunday.
SUEZ is working on the World Bank-funded 24×7 Continuous Pressurised Water Supply Project being implemented by the Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL). During the seminar, SUEZ officials briefed students about the key benefits of the project and the efforts being undertaken to provide better, safer and uninterrupted water supply in Shimla.
The students were also sensitised to the importance of conserving water and were given practical tips on reducing water wastage at school and at home.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Principal Mohit Gupta thanked the SUEZ team for conducting the awareness programme and helping students understand issues related to water conservation and sustainable water use.
School official Mandeep Rana and NGO coordinator Sachin Sharma also addressed the students and shared their views on the importance of responsible water use and conservation.
The programme concluded with students and teachers taking a water conservation pledge, committing themselves to adopting responsible water-use practices in their daily lives.
