Shimla, June 3
The Himachal Pradesh Government has promoted Upender Singh Mankotia and Amit Chopra, both serving as Superintendent Grade-II officers, to the post of Section Officer (Class-I Gazetted) in the Secretariat Administration Services Department.
The promotion orders were issued by the Department of Personnel (Secretariat Administration Services-I) following the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC). According to the notification, the promotions will take effect immediately or from the date the officers assume charge, whichever is later.
As Section Officers, the promoted officials will be placed in Level-16 of the pay matrix, carrying a pay scale of ₹48,700 to ₹1,54,300, along with a Section Officer allowance of ₹4,000 per month under the Himachal Pradesh Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2022.
The government has clarified that the promotions are being granted on an officiating basis and will not confer any claim for regular promotion, continuation, or seniority against the post of Section Officer.
The notification further directs the promoted officers to submit their joining reports to the department without delay. Separate orders regarding their postings will be issued subsequently.
The orders were issued with the approval of the competent authority and have been communicated to all concerned departments and officials for necessary action.
