After fresh snowfall in the high-altitude areas of the state and rain in many places, the cold has increased in the state. Mandi was the coldest day, while a cold wave swept through Una, Kangra, and Hamirpur, while frost fell on the ground in Shimla, Jubbarhatti, and Bilaspur. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain clear and dry in the state on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the weather in the state will deteriorate from the 16th due to the activation of a fresh western disturbance from the night of the 14th of January. There are chances of snowfall and rain in the middle and high mountain areas from 16th to 19th January, while the plains will remain completely dry. A yellow alert has been issued for dense fog, a cold wave, and ground frost at one or two places in the state in the next two days.
On Monday, the maximum temperature in Dhaula Kuan was 22.4 degrees, in Una it was 21.4, and in the capital Shimla it was 14.5 degrees. Although the day temperature has risen a little after the sun came out, the night temperature has dropped. The minimum temperature in Kukumseri was minus 12.3 degrees, while in Tabo it was minus 10.9, in Samdho it was minus 7 degrees, and in the capital Shimla it was 2.4 degrees. In Kalpa, Manali, Narkanda, and Rekongpeo, the minimum temperature has also gone below zero.
