Shimla: Police have caught a drug smuggler with chitta in Theog. The accused is said to be a resident of Uttarakhand and is 20 years old. About 76 grams of chitta has been recovered from the accused’s possession.
Police took action on the basis of secret information.
On Wednesday, the police team was on patrol in Theog. During this, the police received secret information that a youth was going to supply a large amount of chitta on a bike. As soon as the information was received, the police became alert and laid a trap to catch the youth. As soon as the youth reached near Rahighat on his bike, CH:01 CP 7096, the police stopped the youth for investigation on the basis of suspicion. The youth got scared on this. During the search, the police recovered 76 grams of chitta from the youth.
At present, the police have arrested the youth. The accused has been identified as a resident of Uttarakhand. DSP Theog Siddharth Sharma said, “A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act. An investigation is being done to find out from where the accused brought the consignment of drugs and where he was taking it. The police will take further action after presenting the accused in the court on Thursday.”
