11th National Ayurveda Day celebrated in Kullu, around 5100 people benefited

The AYUSH Department, Kullu District, celebrated the 11th National Ayurveda Day on Wednesday. This year’s theme was “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow.” Various awareness and health-related activities were organized to promote the adoption of Ayurveda in the district.
In Kullu district, the AYUSH Department operates two Ayurvedic hospitals, 42 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, one homeopathic institute, and 29 Ayurvedic health centers. These institutions organized activities such as nutrition awareness campaigns, free medical camps, yoga classes, medicinal plant information, awareness camps for visually impaired children, and fruit distribution to children and hospitalized patients.
A free medical camp was organized on the occasion of National Ayurveda Day at the District Ayurvedic Hospital, Kullu, located at the district headquarters. Patients suffering from arthritis and muscle and bone-related ailments were specifically examined at the camp. Dr. Manu Bala Gautam, in-charge of the District Ayurvedic Hospital, Kullu, provided information on various ongoing activities at the hospital, especially Panchakarma and Jalauka treatments.
District Medical Officer Dr. Ranjit Thakur was the chief guest at the event. He planted a medicinal plant and extended greetings on Ayurveda Day.
According to the AYUSH Department, approximately 5,100 people benefited from various activities organized in Kullu district. These included screenings for patients with muscle and bone-related diseases and arthritis, providing information on Panchakarma and other Ayurvedic practices, and planting medicinal plants.
On this occasion, District AYUSH Officer Dr. Tanasha Thakur, while providing information about various ongoing activities in the district, urged people to make Ayurveda a part of their lifestyle. She said that diseases are increasing due to changing lifestyles. In such a situation, by adopting Ayurvedic principles such as a balanced diet, yoga, exercise, and living in harmony with nature, one can not only stay healthy but also create a healthy future for future generations.
