Shimla, August 17
A Two police personnel were killed after the car they were travelling in collided with a tanker on the Toland-Khalini road in Shimla late Sunday night, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Head Constable Praveen Mehta and Constable Hemant Kumar, both posted at the Police Lines Kaithu. The two were travelling in an Alto car bearing registration number HP-52A when the accident occurred.
According to preliminary information, the car collided with a tanker near the Toland-Khalini road. The impact left both policemen critically injured. They later succumbed to their injuries.
Police took the bodies into custody and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the collision.
