Vikramaditya Singh participated in the closing ceremony of Rihali Mela.
Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh today attended the closing ceremony of the Rihali Fair at the Grahaneshwar Fair Committee, Devthi, Shilaghund, as the chief guest. Athletes from various districts were also welcomed at the fair.
Addressing the event, Vikramaditya Singh said that every year, a two- to three-day fair is organized to commemorate Independence Day. Local residents, women, elders, folk singers, regional representatives, and representatives of deity committees enthusiastically participate in the fair. This event serves as an important medium for preserving local culture, traditions, and folk heritage and passing them on to the next generation. The event beautifully showcases the region’s cultural richness, mutual brotherhood, and traditional heritage.
He said that in addition to the area’s ground-level problems, he has also learned about administrative issues. Currently, people are facing difficulties due to the divisions of various departments being located in different administrative areas. He said he would prepare a detailed report on these problems and specifically discuss them with the Chief Minister. He stated that a strong and well-organized administrative structure is essential for overall development. He will strive to streamline the region’s administrative systems with better coordination, so that people don’t have to travel to different locations for their work.
He stated that approximately ₹130 crore (approximately ₹130 crore) is being spent on road construction for the Chaupal Assembly constituency. This includes the construction of the Bagdi Link Road at a cost of approximately ₹10 crore (approximately ₹10 crore). All formalities have been completed, and the tender and award process is also complete. Road construction will commence soon. ₹10 crore is being spent on the Kargoli Nala to Chambal road, ₹9.5 crore on the Kuthar-Kanauri road, and ₹9.7 crore on the Basadhar Gyankot road. He added that ₹239 crore (approximately ₹239 crore) has been approved for the Chhaila-Sainj-Neri Pul-Yashwant Nagar road, and all formalities are being completed.
The road will be named after the person who donates more than 10 bighas of land.
He said that providing land for road construction is of paramount importance. He urged people to contribute to the construction of roads by donating land, so that road connectivity can be strengthened in remote mountainous areas. He said that anyone who donates more than 10 bighas of land for road construction will be given the name of the road.
The minister announced a grant of 5 lakh rupees for the stadium’s renovation. He also announced a grant of 10,000 rupees to each Thoda team and cultural performances for school students.
