Mukti Parv observed in Shimla with message of inner freedom, spiritual awareness and harmony
Shimla, August 15: While Independence Day was celebrated across India with patriotic fervour, the Sant Nirankari Mission organised a special satsang at its Satsang Bhawan in Shimla to mark Mukti Parv, focusing on inner freedom, self-realisation and freedom from ignorance, ego and prejudice.
The programme was held under the guidance of Sant Nirankari Mission and featured a message from Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, delivered by Shimla coordinator Hemraj Bhardwaj. Mahatmas from Durgapur also participated in the satsang.
The main Mukti Parv programme was held in Delhi in the presence of Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj and Nirankari Raj Pita Ramit Ji at Ground No. 2, Nirankari Sarovar, Nirankari Chowk, Burari Road. Thousands of devotees from Delhi-NCR and other regions attended the gathering.
Addressing devotees, Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj said that true liberation does not come from freedom from external restrictions alone, but from overcoming hatred, ego, narrow-mindedness and prejudice. She emphasised that living with awareness of the formless divine, along with love, devotion and acceptance, represents liberation while living.
Drawing inspiration from the life of Mata Savinder Ji, Satguru Mata Ji cited the example of a lighthouse, saying that people should continue to radiate peace, love and positivity regardless of circumstances. She stressed that spiritual teachings should not merely be heard but reflected in one’s thoughts, actions and daily life.
Devotees also paid tribute to revered saints and spiritual personalities whose sacrifice and service contributed to the mission’s spiritual journey. Special Mukti Parv satsangs were organised at various branches of the mission across India and abroad.
Origins of Mukti Parv
Mukti Parv began in 1964 in memory of Jagat Mata Budhwanti Ji. Following the passing of Shahanshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji in 1969, the occasion came to be observed as Shahanshah-Jagatmata Diwas. In 1979, the memory of Sant Labh Singh Ji, the first president of the Sant Nirankari Mandal, was also associated with the occasion, which was subsequently established as Mukti Parv by Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji.
Since 2018, devotees have also paid tribute to Mata Savinder Ji on the occasion. Her life of humility, compassion, sacrifice and selfless service continues to be remembered as a source of inspiration for followers.
The occasion also honours dedicated devotees and volunteers who have devoted their lives to serving humanity and the mission.
The organisers said that just as political freedom creates the foundation for a nation’s progress, spiritual awareness through Brahmgyan can help individuals recognise their true identity and move towards a life based on love, harmony and human values.
