Punjabi Singer Bobby Sidhu to Perform
June 6
SHIMLA: The International Shimla Summer Festival 2026 is set to celebrate the vibrant cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh, with nearly 200 artists from across the state preparing to showcase the region’s rich folk traditions during the five-day event from June 8 to June 12.
The festival will provide a major platform for local artists, allowing them to present their talent before thousands of visitors, tourists and cultural enthusiasts. Folk singers, dancers, instrumentalists and cultural groups from different districts of Himachal Pradesh will perform daily, highlighting the state’s diverse artistic traditions.
Deputy Commissioner Shimla and Chairman of the International Shimla Summer Festival Organising Committee, Anupam Kashyap, said the festival aims to strengthen Himachal Pradesh’s cultural identity while encouraging local talent. He noted that many gifted artists from rural and remote areas rarely get opportunities to perform on prominent stages, and the Summer Festival offers them a valuable platform to gain recognition.
Kashyap said the event will feature a variety of folk music and dance performances, helping preserve traditional art forms and inspiring younger generations to remain connected with their cultural roots. Promoting local artists remains one of the organising committee’s top priorities, he added.
Adding to the cultural extravaganza, cultural troupes associated with the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala, will present performances from different states. Audiences will witness Uttarakhand’s Chholiya dance, Rajasthan’s Bhavai dance, Jammu and Kashmir’s Gojri dance, and Haryana’s traditional Ghoomar and Phag dances, reflecting India’s rich cultural diversity.
A major attraction of the festival will be the performance by popular Punjabi singer Bobby Sidhu on June 10. Known for his energetic stage presence and popular tracks, Sidhu is expected to draw large crowds during the cultural celebrations.
Organisers believe that the participation of both local and national artists will make the International Shimla Summer Festival 2026 a vibrant celebration of cultural unity, folk heritage preservation and artistic excellence.
