Shahpur, August 16: A new electric charging station will be installed at the Shahpur bus stand at a cost of Rs 46.28 lakh. Upon the approval of the funds, Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri.
The people of Shahpur assembly constituency have also expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for the approval of the charging station.
Kewal Singh Pathania said that three new electric buses are being introduced in the Shahpur assembly constituency. For their smooth operation, a charging station will be set up at the Shahpur bus stand. The location for the charging station has been identified in consultation with officials from the Transport and Electricity departments, and the concerned departments have been instructed to complete the necessary procedures expeditiously.
He said that necessary guidelines have also been given to the Transport Department regarding the route expansion of electric buses, so that people of rural areas can get better and easy transport facilities.
The MLA said that setting up a charging station in Shahpur will strengthen the electric bus service and the residents of the area will get better facilities of environment-friendly public transport.
