Bhakra Beas Management Board celebrated its 51st Raising Day with grandeur, dignity and enthusiasm at the Indradhanush Auditorium in Sector-5, Panchkula on May 15, marking the completion of 50 glorious years of its establishment.
The event was attended by Manohar Lal Khattar as the chief guest. Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Shruti Choudhry, Punjab Water Resources Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal and Rajasthan Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat were present as special guests.
A commemorative Coffee Table Book highlighting BBMB’s journey and achievements over the decades was also released during the function.
Addressing the gathering, the Union Power Minister praised BBMB’s vital contribution towards nation-building and termed the organisation a backbone of northern India’s power and irrigation infrastructure. Other ministers also appreciated BBMB’s consistent efforts in ensuring water management, hydropower generation and regional development across partner states.
The celebration witnessed vibrant cultural performances by students of DAV School BBMB Nangal, who showcased patriotic and colourful presentations reflecting the rich legacy and values of the organisation.
The programme concluded on a high note with renewed commitment towards sustainable development, efficient water resource management and strengthening the energy sector in the country.
