To mark World Red Cross Day, the District Red Cross Society, Chamba, organized a blood donation camp at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Chamba. Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the District Red Cross Society, Mukesh Repaswal, attended the event as the chief guest.
During this, he said that World Red Cross Day symbolizes humanity, service, and dedication. He added that the Red Cross has always played a leading role in serving the needy and suffering humanity, and that it is the moral responsibility of every person in society to actively participate in such noble causes.
He said that people enthusiastically participated in the blood donation camp held today, donating approximately 35 units of blood, which will prove life-saving for patients in need. He praised the blood donors, saying that there is no greater donation than blood donation, as one unit of blood can give a person a new life.
During this, the Deputy Commissioner also presented certificates of appreciation to the blood donors.
The Deputy Commissioner specifically urged young people to play an active role in social service by regularly participating in social causes such as blood donation. He also praised the efforts made by the District Red Cross Society, the Health Department, and the Medical College administration.
