Shimla: Police have registered cross FIRs after a clash between two groups near Dundi Mata Temple in Nerwa market on August 27. A video related to the incident is also being circulated on social media.
According to police, FIR No. 40/2026 was registered on the complaint of one party under Sections 126(2), 115(2), 351(2), 352 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Based on the complaint of the other party, FIR No. 41/2026 was registered under Sections 126(2), 115(2) and 3(5) of the BNS.
Police said investigations into both cases are underway. All facts related to the incident, available video footage and other evidence are being examined, and further action will be taken in accordance with the law based on the findings of the investigation.
Police have also appealed to the public not to spread rumours or misleading information based on the video circulating on social media and urged people to avoid drawing conclusions before the completion of the investigation.
