Shimla: Government employees in Himachal Pradesh covered under the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) are awaiting 15 per cent Dearness Allowance (DA), which remains pending in six installments since July 1, 2023.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu disclosed the details in a written reply to a question by Bilaspur MLA Trilok Jamwal in the Assembly. The pending installments include 1% from July 1, 2023; 4% from January 1, 2024; 3% from July 1, 2024; 2% from January 1, 2025; 3% from July 1, 2025; and 2% from January 1, 2026.
The six installments together account for 15% pending DA. The Chief Minister said the government would release the dues once the state’s financial position improves and that steps are being taken to strengthen the financial situation.
According to the information provided in the House, employees covered under the New Pension Scheme (NPS) and Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) are receiving DA at the rate of 60%, in line with the Central Government, with no installments pending.
OPS employees in Himachal Pradesh are currently receiving 45% DA from October 15, 2025, while the Central Government rate stands at 60%, leaving a 15% difference linked to the six pending installments.
