New Delhi, July 16: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday declared the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026, paving the way for the commencement of medical admissions and counselling across the country. According to the NTA, 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other undergraduate medical programmes.
Nearly 20 lakh candidates appeared for the examination, which was conducted at 5,440 centres across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad in 13 languages. The agency said the results have been announced in time to ensure that the counselling and admission schedule remains on track.
In a significant trend, more than 58 per cent of the qualified candidates are women, reflecting strong female participation and performance in this year’s examination. The majority of top-performing candidates are in the 17–19 years age group.
Candidates can now download their scorecards from the official NEET website. The NTA has also published the list of All India Rank holders, state toppers, category-wise toppers, cut-off marks and language-wise participation statistics.
According to reports, Aryan Gupta of Punjab and Panshul Bansal of Haryana secured the All India Rank 1 with 715 marks each.
