Shimla, August 1: The Rover and Ranger units of Government Degree College, Chail-Koti, celebrated Scout Scarf Day with enthusiasm, highlighting the values, traditions and spirit of the Scout movement.
The programme focused on familiarising students with the significance of the Scout scarf and its role as a symbol of discipline, unity and service. New Rover and Ranger members were given practical training on the correct way to fold, wear and tie the Scout scarf, while also learning about its historical and symbolic importance.
College Principal Dr Deep Shikha, who participated in the event wearing a Scout scarf, commended the efforts of the Rover and Ranger units. She said scouting plays a vital role in nurturing discipline, leadership, teamwork, service and social responsibility among students.
Encouraging students to uphold the ideals of the movement, she urged them to actively contribute to society and remain committed to the values of selfless service.
During the programme, students reaffirmed their commitment to the principles and code of scouting and pledged to work for the welfare of society while adhering to Scout rules and values.
The event concluded with a collective pledge by the participants to continue serving the community with dedication and integrity.
