From young first-timers to veteran marathoners, the Shimla Mashobra Marathon 2026 transformed into a powerful celebration of endurance, courage and human spirit, proving that the greatest victory lay far beyond medals and finish lines

As the first rays of morning hit the cedar-covered slopes of Mashobra and chilly Himalayan winds swept through the valleys, hundreds of runners gathered with one objective in mind: to conquer one of the North India’s most gorgeous and demanding marathon routes. The calm hill hamlet came alive with enthusiasm as athletes prepared to put their stamina to the test on the twisty mountain roads.
Nearly 200 participants took part in the Shimla Mashobra Marathon 2026, showing great determination and fighting spirit throughout the race. From experienced runners to young first-time participants, every athlete pushed their limits while running through the beautiful Himalayan landscape, making the event a true celebration of fitness, endurance and passion.
The marathon provided more than just a race and it was an amazing experience with its steep climbs, winding mountain bends, and stunning views of the Himalayas. Organised under the banner of “Run and Thrive Fitness“, the event featured three major categories:42.195 km Full Marathon, 21.1 km Half Marathon and 10 km Run that has attracted athletes across India.
The roads stretching from HIPA Fairlawns toward Baikhalti transformed into a living arena of determination where young athletes, working professionals, doctors, women runners and veteran marathoners battled exhaustion and altitude alike. Cheers from spectators echoed through the hills as runners crossed checkpoints with grit written across their faces.
Among the biggest stars of the event was Krishana Raj Rokaya, who dominated the Full Marathon men’s 18-30 category with a remarkable timing of 2:58:11, emerging as one of the fastest runners of the day. In the women’s full marathon category, Navanya Sharma displayed tremendous stamina and resilience to secure the top position.

The Half Marathon witnessed a thrilling contest where Jatin stormed ahead to clinch first place in the men’s category with a timing of 1:15:52, while Joanne Tatung emerged victorious among women runners. The 10 km race was equally electrifying as young athlete Anshul Thapa delivered a sensational performance, finishing the race in just 36:26.

The most inspiring highlights of the marathon came from senior participants above 60 years of age, proving that age is merely a number when determination is strong. Their performances drew loud applause and admiration from fellow runners and spectators alike whereas the below are the final results of the heroes who conquered the gruelling Himalayan full marathon challenge with extraordinary endurance, determination and fighting spirit.
Marathon Winners Script Stories of Endurance and Glory on Himalayan Roads
In the fiercely contested 18–30 Male category, Krishana Raj Rokaya stole the spotlight by clocking a stunning 2:58:11 to take the top honours. Yashpal followed with an impressive 3:10:10, while Satyam Bhatt secured third place in 4:25:13. In the women’s 18–30 category, Navanya Sharma displayed remarkable grit and endurance to emerge victorious with a timing of 5:37:54.
The Half Marathon (21.1 km) category at the Shimla Mashobra Marathon 2026 witnessed electrifying performances as runners showcased speed, stamina and determination on the challenging Himalayan route. In the 18–30 Male category, Jatin stormed to victory with a brilliant timing of 1:15:52, narrowly edging past Dhruv who clocked 1:16:39. Pradeep Kumar completed the podium with a strong finish of 1:19:38. In the women’s 18–30 category, Joanne Tatung displayed remarkable endurance to secure first place in 3:38:08.
The competition remained intense across other categories as athletes battled steep climbs and unpredictable mountain weather. In the 31–40 Male category, Harshit Agarwal clinched first place with a timing of 2:06:48, followed closely by Vikas Thakur in 2:08:52, while Rakesh Kumar secured third position in 2:14:36. In the 31–40 Female category, Nisha Chandnani emerged victorious after completing the race in 2:37:25.
Among the veteran runners, inspiring performances continued to capture attention. In the 41–50 Male category, Davinder Bhalaik finished first with an impressive 1:35:43, ahead of Shetty Shivananda Shetty who clocked 1:46:53, while Rohit Prasad secured third in 1:59:52. In the 51–60 Male category, Dr Rangila Ram claimed top honours with a timing of 2:00:32, followed by Mohinder Thakur in 2:16:46 and Harjit Singh in 2:17:05.
The 60+ Male category once again highlighted the spirit of endurance and passion for long-distance running. Jaskaran Singh delivered a commanding performance to finish first in 1:54:50, while Ram Sajeevan Anuragi secured second place with a timing of 2:26:46. Kurupath Suresh Kumar completed the podium after crossing the finish line in 2:47:40.
From Teenagers to Veterans, 10Km Race Inspires All
The 10 km race at the Shimla Mashobra Marathon 2026 saw runners of all age groups deliver spirited performances amid the scenic yet demanding Himalayan terrain. In the 15–17 Male category, Gaurav clinched first place with a timing of 40:41, followed by Madhav Karol in 50:30 and Hardik Sharma in 54:50. In the fiercely competitive 18–30 Male category, Anshul Thapa emerged victorious with a brilliant 36:26, narrowly ahead of Divesh Divesh who clocked the same timing, while Ram Kishan finished third in 36:50. In the women’s 18–30 category, Anamika secured first place in 45:58, ahead of Riya Choudhary and Sonal Kamra.
In the 31–40 Male category, Atul Chuhan claimed top honours with a timing of 55:25, while Mayur Gupta and Vaibhav Khanna finished second and third respectively. In the women’s section, Manveer Kaur crossed the finish line first in 1:14:41, followed by Gayatri Kashyap and Vibha Sharma. In the 41–50 Male category, Dola Singh finished first with an impressive 46:34, ahead of Bhupinder Partap and Raj Pal. Among women in the same age group, Amanpreet Kaur Bhullar emerged victorious in 1:08:21, while Dr Purnima Thakur and Ameeka Tulla secured podium finishes.
Veteran runners once again proved their endurance and determination in the senior categories. In the 51–60 Male division, Vishram Singh Meena secured first place in 52:53, followed by Atul Sharma and Roop Bhatia. In the 51–60 Female category, Ravinder Kour claimed victory in 1:08:56 ahead of Roshni Devi. In the 60+ Male category, Rajendra Singh finished first with a timing of 1:01:20, while Surjit Singh and Gurmej Kainth completed the podium. In the 60+ Female category, Vinita Chaudhry emerged as the sole finisher to take top honours with a timing of 1:35:35.
The marathon once again highlighted Himachal Pradesh’s growing reputation as a destination for adventure sports and endurance events. Dr. Manish Gupta, Head of the Department of Radiotherapy at Indira Gandhi Medical College & Hospital expressed confidence that the event will continue to inspire a stronger fitness culture while placing the Himalayan state firmly on India’s marathon map.
