Arki, July 9: As part of the anti-drug awareness campaign launched on the directions of the Solan Deputy Commissioner, Lakshay Public School in Arki organised a de-addiction awareness programme on Thursday to educate students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage them to adopt a drug-free lifestyle.
Members of the Arki De-addiction Centre interacted with students, highlighting the physical, mental and social consequences of drug addiction. They urged students to stay away from intoxicants and play an active role in spreading awareness against substance abuse in society.
During the programme, students took a pledge to remain drug-free and contribute towards building a healthier and addiction-free community. NSS volunteers and students of Classes IX to XII participated enthusiastically in the awareness drive.
The programme was attended by the school’s Managing Director Akash Gupta, Principal Veena Gupta, teachers Ashish and Mahanti Devi, and NSS Programme Officer Nidhi.
Addressing the gathering, the school management appealed to students to stay away from drugs, adopt healthy habits and become responsible citizens. It also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the district administration’s anti-drug campaign through regular awareness initiatives aimed at creating a drug-free society.
