The Child Development Project, Kandaghat, organised an awareness camp on the theme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Sayri.
Advocate Poonam Sharma provided detailed information about the POCSO Act, Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, 1994, Child Marriage Prohibition Act, and the Domestic Violence Act.
Tulsi Ram from the Police Department shared important information about legal provisions and the role of the police in ensuring the protection and safety of women and children.
Tehsil Welfare Officer Bhopal Bharat made the participants aware of the harmful effects of drug abuse and highlighted the importance of de-addiction and preventive measures.
Child Development Project Officer, Kandaghat, Raksha Sharma informed the participants about various welfare schemes being implemented by the department and discussed issues related to the welfare and protection of women and children.
The main objective of the awareness camp was to sensitise heads and officials of various departments about women and child protection, legal provisions, drug prevention and the need to prevent social evils.
Heads and officials of various departments, supervisors, block coordinators and students associated with the Child Development Project, Kandaghat, participated in the programme.
