Shri Chintpurni Ji (Una), June 15, 2026: In a major boost to religious tourism and pilgrimage infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Monday reviewed preparations for the ambitious Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple Development and Expansion Project and directed officials to expedite all pending formalities and commence construction work at the earliest.
The Deputy Chief Minister announced that approximately ₹250 crore will be spent on the development, expansion, and beautification of Mata Shri Chintpurni Dham. The project aims to transform the revered shrine into a world-class religious destination while preserving the original structure, sanctity, and spiritual significance of the temple’s sanctum sanctorum.
Mukesh Agnihotri said that with the blessings of Maa Chintpurni, the state government is committed to making the pilgrimage destination more grand, attractive, and devotee-friendly. The project will include the development of a modern religious complex equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for pilgrims visiting from across India and abroad.
He informed that the project’s drawings and land acquisition process are nearing completion and construction work is expected to begin shortly. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will soon lay the foundation stone for the ambitious development initiative.
Drawing comparisons with the redevelopment of major religious destinations across the country, including Mata Vaishno Devi and Shri Vrindavan Dham, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Mata Shri Chintpurni Dham will also be developed on similar lines with a planned and integrated approach. The upgraded infrastructure is expected to significantly enhance the pilgrimage experience and strengthen Himachal Pradesh’s position as a leading religious tourism destination.
Agnihotri stated that the government aims to complete the first phase of the project within the next year, ensuring devotees can benefit from modern facilities at the earliest. He emphasized that regular monitoring of construction activities will be carried out to ensure timely execution of the project.
Appealing to local residents, temple stakeholders, and devotees, he sought their cooperation for the successful implementation of the project. He expressed confidence that with collective support and the blessings of Maa Chintpurni, the initiative would create a new identity for the state in the fields of religious tourism and spiritual heritage.
During the visit, the Deputy Chief Minister also offered prayers at Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple, seeking peace, prosperity, and well-being for the people of Himachal Pradesh. He was later felicitated by the temple administration.
MLA Sudarshan Singh Bablu described Mata Shri Chintpurni Dham as an important symbol of the state’s religious, cultural, and spiritual heritage. He expressed confidence that the project would provide better facilities to devotees and open new avenues for religious tourism and local economic development.
Among those present on the occasion were Kutlehar MLA Vivek Sharma, former Una MLA Satpal Raizada, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, SDM Amb Paras Agarwal, and officials from various departments.
