Deputy Commissioner Solan Manmohan Sharma said that the District Red Cross Committee is always ready to serve suffering humanity. Manmohan Sharma was addressing the members of the District Red Cross Committee after distributing fruits to patients at the Regional Hospital, Solan, on the occasion of World Red Cross Day.
On this occasion, along with the members of the District Red Cross Committee, he distributed fruits, juice and biscuits etc. to 130 patients at the Regional Hospital Solan, Leprosy Hospital Lohanji and TB Sanatorium Dharampur.
Manmohan Sharma said that this day inspires us to maintain the spirit of service towards the needy and work towards the betterment of suffering humanity.
He said that with the support of the public, the Red Cross Committee’s work is being expanded in the district. Enlightened individuals are continuously assisting in providing resources to the suffering and needy. He expressed his gratitude to the participants for their support of the Red Cross Committee.
Manmohan Sharma said that through the help desk set up by the Red Cross Society at the regional hospital, 213 people have been provided assistance and two have received financial assistance. The District Red Cross Society, Solan, has provided assistance totaling ₹2,73,280 to 42 needy people in the 2025-26 fiscal year.
He stated that the Red Cross Committee’s mission is to provide selfless service to humanity, and the District Red Cross Committee, Solan, continues to work tirelessly with dedication and service to humanity. He urged them to continue such noble work in the future.
He urged everyone to join the Red Cross Committee, Solan, and participate in serving suffering humanity so that more and more needy individuals can be provided assistance in their time of need. He urged everyone to contribute generously to the Red Cross Committee.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner spoke with the patients and inquired about their well-being. A blood donation camp was also organized by the L.R. Group of Institutes in collaboration with the District Red Cross Committee, Solan. Twenty-two units of blood were collected at the camp.
