Sirmour/Tonru: Political activity has intensified in Gram Panchayat Tonru Danda Aanj ahead of the Panchayat elections. In a significant development, senior journalist and noted social worker GS Tomar filed his nomination papers for the post of Panchayat Pradhan on Monday.
An enthusiastic atmosphere was witnessed during the nomination process as a large number of senior citizens, youth, women and local residents gathered to extend their support to Tomar.
Locals said the Panchayat has, perhaps for the first time, received a candidate who is not only highly educated but also possesses a deep understanding of social issues and grassroots challenges. Owing to his long experience in journalism, clean public image and commitment towards public service, people in the area have shown strong faith and excitement regarding his candidature.
