Shimla, June 22: The Directorate of School Education, Himachal Pradesh, has invited eligible school teachers across the state to apply for the National Teachers Awards 2026, an initiative of the Department of School Education & Literacy under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
According to a press note issued by the Directorate, teachers can submit their self-nominations online through the National Teachers Awards Portal. The awards aim to recognize and honour educators who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, innovation and commitment in improving the quality of school education and positively impacting the lives of students.
The online portal for self-nominations opened on June 15, 2026, and applications can be submitted until July 10, 2026. Teachers will be able to complete the final submission and confirmation process between July 11 and July 13, 2026.
The Directorate has advised interested teachers to carefully go through the guidelines available on the National Teachers Awards Portal and ensure timely submission of applications. No applications will be accepted after the prescribed deadline.
As per the schedule, district and regional-level scrutiny of nominations will be conducted between July 14 and July 21, followed by state-level shortlisting from July 22 to July 29. The final selection process by the Independent National Jury is scheduled from August 3 to August 7, while the award ceremony will be held on September 4 and 5, 2026.
