The Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India, has invited applications from Indian screenwriters for the WAVES Film Bazaar Screenwriters Lab 2026, a programme aimed at helping writers develop feature film scripts into industry-ready screenplays.
The Lab is open to writers with stories rooted in local culture or crafted for a global audience. Selected participants will receive one-on-one mentorship from leading Indian and international script experts, along with opportunities to network with filmmakers, producers, festival programmers, and industry professionals.
The programme includes a five-day residential session in Mumbai in the last week of August, a five-day online mentorship in October, and a 10-day live session in Goa from November 15–24, 2026, alongside the WAVES Film Bazaar.
The application deadline is August 4, 2026, at 11:59 PM. The application fee is ₹9,000. Selected writers will also get an opportunity to pitch their projects to more than 300 Indian and international producers, sales agents, and festival representatives.
