Srinagar: Around 30 pilgrims were injured after a bus carrying Amarnath Yatra devotees overturned on the Srinagar–Sonamarg highway near the S-Morh stretch at Hariganiwan while heading towards the Baltal base camp on Tuesday.
According to officials, the bus lost control before plunging into a roadside gorge. Rescue teams, police and local administration rushed to the accident site and launched an immediate rescue operation. The injured pilgrims were shifted to nearby hospitals, where they are undergoing treatment.
Authorities said there were no immediate reports of any fatalities. The condition of the injured is being closely monitored.
An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. Meanwhile, officials have urged pilgrims travelling on the Amarnath Yatra route to exercise caution and strictly follow traffic advisories and safety guidelines issued by the administration.
